Step 1: Research
Before you send us your application and CV, it's important that you feel we’re the perfect fit for you. Part of that means making sure you value what we value. Find out more about what makes us tick. If you like what you read, we recommend spending a bit of time having a look around this site – and heading over to LV.com too. If you just can’t get enough of all things LV=, you can like us, follow us or just find out more about us on social media. Enjoy!
Step 2: Apply online
First things first, you need to make sure your CV is ready.
Once you’ve found a job that suits your skills and experiences, click the ‘apply’ link at the bottom of the advert. Then you should follow the online application guide where you’ll be prompted to complete some initial application questions. After that, simply upload your CV and any other information you feel is relevant to showcase your suitability for the role and submit your application. Remember to give your CV one final review and spell check before you send it to us.
A colleague in our recruitment team will then review your application against the role you’ve applied for. We’ll be in touch to let you know if you’ve been shortlisted for the next stage, so make sure you keep an eye on your emails and your phone.
Step 3: The selection process
From phone interviews to online psychometric tests, we have various selection methods depending on the type of role you’ve applied for.
Telephone interview
You’ll be invited to book in for a telephone interview using our online booking system. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know us, find out more about life in our business, understand the role and team in more detail and answer any questions. It’s also our opportunity to get to know you better – your recruiter will have a handful of key questions to cover and some competency-based questions, too.
We recommend you find a quiet place, make sure you have good signal if using a mobile phone and have a glass of water at the ready.
Psychometric testing (ability)
For some of our roles, you’ll be invited to complete an online psychometric assessment. Why? To help us assess your numerical ability, verbal ability, deductive reasoning and/or abstract reasoning. Your recruiter will let you know in advance and help answer any questions you might have about the tests.
Face to face interview
You’ll be invited to meet with us at one of our offices. Most of our interviews are competency based, related to the behaviours and technical skills needed to succeed in the role. Whilst experience and qualifications count, we also recruit for behavioural fit. That’s why we want to know how you’d behave in certain scenarios and whether you have the skills for the job. Take a look at the key competencies below, which link to our values, and think about scenarios where you’ve demonstrated these competencies before.
Courageous: Future-focused, we have resilience and energy in the face of challenge, and a can-do attitude.
- Inclusive: We show empathy, trust and respect to others, valuing and embracing our differences.
- Curious: Open to new ways of thinking, we seek out information and look beyond our business.
- Trusted: We always put our members and customers at the heart of our decision making, taking responsibility to do the right thing.
Talent selection event
For some roles, we organise talent selection events. If you're invited to one, you will be asked to complete one written exercise followed by a competency interview. Our selection events tend to last up to two hours, and may also involve a tour around the office.
To make sure you’re prepared as best as possible, we’ll always be clear on what to expect during the interview process when we first talk to you, so there’s no need to worry.
Step 4: Outcome
Once all interviews are complete, your recruiter will be back in touch to let you know the outcome of your application.
If you’ve been successful, we’ll call you to talk through the details of the offer and answer any questions you may have. As we're regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), all our offers are subject to referencing – we’ll explain what that entails when we discuss the offer with you.
If you’re not successful or the role isn’t quite right for you, don’t be disheartened, we’re always keen to keep in touch with talented people for other opportunities in the future. If you’d like more details as to why we didn’t feel you were the perfect fit this time, we’ll be happy to explain why. And remember, you can always reapply for a job with us after three months.
