IT Service plays a vital part in the success of our business strategy. In the role of Application Monitoring Technician, you will lead the development of detailed and in-depth Application monitoring for some of our most critical IT services that helps us look after the seven million general insurance customers that we are proud to serve. This is an initial 12 months fixed term contract with the possibility for extension or a permanent role for the right candidate.
With focus placed on our Broker systems, you’ll be part of a small friendly team who look after the day to day support of our core IT services. You will have the opportunity to innovate and drive forward efficiencies to maximise incident and problem management.
You will be an integral part of the team working closely with the business and change counterparts to on-board project change and regular release activities; collaborating with third parties and infrastructure teams to ensure a high quality of service is provisioned through maintaining service levels, minimising outages and managing production incidents through robust monitoring provision
As a key stakeholder in the inception stage of new implementations and solutions, you’ll ensure Performance Monitoring requirements and standards are adhered to and implemented before system go-live. Whilst on a fixed term contract at LV=GI you are entitled to all the benefits described below.
What are we looking for?
You will have experience in working within an IT support role, with hands on experience using key monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace. This, paired with your excellent understanding of core insurance systems will enable you to hit the ground running.
You may have been through a change in the way you deliver monitoring, or been the contact point for your team to the business in the past, either way you’ll certainly have the confidence to present reports, analysis and lead discussions in meetings with stakeholders at every level. Your communication skills are important, both written and verbal to allow you to translate technical details into meaningful dialogue with business users in a way they will understand.
You will have excellent analytical skills, and the proven ability to implement, support and improve the Service Management provision and the software technologies that come with it. Any ITIL certifications would be a big advantage to your application, as would any experience working within an Agile methodology.
