Role Description

LV=GI have a new opportunity for a Senior Pricing Analyst in a Pricing Reporting team covering our offices in Birmingham and Bournemouth.

About the Role

The Pricing Reporting Team is accountable for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of pricing reporting systems and processes, as well as providing actionable insights and analysis to support strategic pricing decisions and we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Senior Pricing Analyst working on multi-Products and Brands.

As a Senior Pricing Analyst in the Pricing Reporting Team, you will be at the forefront of decision making; carrying out analysis and making recommendations to stakeholders to improve the pricing and products we offer to our customers and brokers. If you have experience in data and analysis and have insurance market knowledge, we’d love to hear from you!

This is available in our Croydon, Birmingham and Bournemouth offices, and offered on a hybrid basis with the opportunity to work from home regularly. We adopt a flexible working environment with a strong focus on continuous learning and development.

About you

You will have an analytical mind with a keen interest in data and making data-led decisions. You'll have a curious attitude and be detail oriented. You’ll also be a good communicator, well organised, with the ability to present your ideas to stakeholders from around the business.

We don't expect you to know everything from day one, but the following will enable you to hit the ground running:

  • Have an eye for spotting trends, analysing data and business performance to provide actionable insight to the business.
  • Proven experience in working with large data sources and a good command of Python, SQL, or similar coding languages.
  • Experience of Power BI or other dashboard reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of Willis Towers Watson software suite mainly focused on Radar and Emblem
  • Excellent data handling skills, such as producing summary statistics, transformations and visualisations
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including communication, expectation management and the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Proven teamworking skills and the self-motivation to organise your workstack and balance competing deadlines
  • Good understanding of the various elements of the price we set, and how we can optimise this to deliver business targets
  • Ideally you will hold a STEM degree and have at least 2 years of applying your knowledge in an analytical role in a business environment.  A background in Insurance is desirable but not essential.

The Details

Customers are at the heart of everything that we do, so you’ll need to live the LV= values in everything you do. As a key member of the team, you’ll deliver project work to agreed business timescales based on requirements from Pricing and business-wide meetings.

You’ll use your coding and insurance industry expertise to carry out and deliver pricing analysis, interpret the output, and communicate the results to a technical and non-technical audience. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders and work with the business to understand best practices and keep aligned with the best ways of working.

Your role will vary day to day, but here is a bit of what you can expect:

  • Identify trends, making links in the data, providing actionable insight, communicating and presenting results to key stakeholders of Pricing & U/W and Trading groups.
  • Co-ordinate key outputs from Pricing & U/W and Trading groups which need to be produced on a regular basis to ensure consistency.
  • Regularly review pricing and underwriting monitors, ensuring key points and changes in trends are escalated.
  • Continually looking to improve data, processes and reporting by providing a consistent view.
  • Get hands-on with data from its source right through to analysis and reporting, choosing the right software tool for the job, including Databricks (SQL and Python) and from time-to-time Willis Towers Watson software tools Radar Optimiser, Radar Live, and Emblem
  • Assist in coaching and developing other colleagues within the team to ensure constant up-skilling.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the Company and wider UK insurance market.
