LV=GI have a new opportunity for a Policy Crime Prevention Consultant, covering our offices in Brentwood or Bournemouth, you will need to attend the office a minimum of 2 days per month.

Your purpose will be to prevent, detect and disrupt insurance fraud to protect LVGI and Customers from Fraud achieving our Financial Crime purpose. Working with Brokers, Customers, Third Parties and Law Enforcement agencies to progress investigations and contribute to the success of the business through the reduction of fraudulent activity.

  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the key application fraud threats impacting upon personal lines car insurance.
  • Knowledge of the evidential threshold requirements and relevant legislation required to pursue criminal cases against identified targets for disruption.
  • Collaboration experience with eternal bodies such as stake holders, brokers, Insurance Fraud Bureau and IFED

About you

You will have experience with direct and/or broker lines in a Motor Insurance background with an understanding of insurance products and underwriting criteria. You will be able to identify potential fraud risks and why policies are cancelled for fraud reasons, plus awareness of investigation techniques and counter-fraud systems. You may also have experience investigating fraud, knowledge of working practices and fraud typology.

You will be customer focused, a great interpersonal communicator and decision maker, able to work in a team and individually. You will be able to build new relationships and support existing ones to support identification and disruption of fraud. You will understand GDPR, Treating Customers Fairly, Consumer Insurance Disclosure and Representations Act, Fraud Act and the importance of compliance in a fraud environment.

The Details:

Deciding which referrals to the Policy Crime Prevention Team will be investigated and which are genuine. Referrals come through multiple sources, such as Machine Learning, GI Claims teams and Brokers.

Complete intelligence searches and more advanced ad hoc searches as required to aide decision whether to investigate or clear policy.                                                                              

To provide feedback of an appropriate standard on all policy referrals to different levels.

Assess different types of fraud scenarios and determine the appropriate investigations to resolve suspicions of fraudulent activity. 

To identify linked and organised policies and escalate to Linked & Organised Coordinator.

To identify complaints, identifying the root cause and resolving where possible.

Be able to demonstrate an understanding of underwriting processes used across LVGI and how that impacts our decision making process.

Identify and highlight emerging fraud trends to your team leader and technical controller.                                                                                                        

Using counter-fraud databases and systems such as SIRA to identify, investigate and record fraudulent policies.

Where a policy is deemed potentially fraudulent to capture and highlight relevant concerns and record this information accurately on relevant systems.

Be responsible for complying with all internal, regulatory and statutory standards and controls so that the requirements of LV= and regulatory bodies are met.

Manage their own self development and contribute to their 1-2-1’s, team discussions, and continuous improvement programmes.

Achieve agreed service, productivity, quality and performance measures in line with business and personal objectives.
