This role will be working from the Bournemouth offices with the opportunity to work from home 2/3 days a week. We adopt a flexible working environment with a focus on learning and development.

Role Profile

You will report to the Claims and Financial Crime Risk Manager. You will track and manage risk events keeping the risk event tracker maintained and suggesting improvements to existing processes. You’ll analyse the risk profile and support the business in root cause analysis and risk mitigation.

You will manage and support the oversight function for the GDPR Right of Access process across Claims and Financial Crime.  This will include regular liaison with the Data Protection Team and Claims SMEs to ensure requests are completed in line with ICO requirements.

The Risk analyst position will have an administrative focus, duties including but not limited to accurately maintaining and circulating the risk event tracker, triaging the Claims Risk inbox, answering emails, chasing risk event actions, writing and circulating minutes.

About You

A understanding of the general insurance market would be advantageous but not essential with excellent Time management skills – being able to manage your own workload and prioritise accordingly

You will have the ability to learn and keep abreast of new developments in the regulatory environment. A knowledge of our regulators approach to and expectations of risk management desirable.

Ideally you will have a Risk Management qualification or similar desirable with A Levels or preferably educated to degree level with professional qualifications (ACII). 

You will have good organisational skills, excellent attention to detail with the ability work as part of a team when required.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to be persuasive and respond objectively when challenged. You have good problem solving, decision making and analytical mind set – thinking objectively with good numerical and analytical skills

The Details

You’ll liaise with the Claims Audit team, reviewing completed audit reports, adding improvement actions to the risk tracker and managing the actions through to completion.

You’ll be supporting the Risk Manager when conducting quarterly risk and control assessments with stakeholders (taking minutes, tracking actions etc.) and with any other ad hoc work.

Raise and manage risk events and control weaknesses ensuring enterprise risk management standards are followed and appropriate and proportionate action is taken to mitigate impact to customers & the business and track to completion.

Work with business areas to undertake comprehensive root cause analysis and ensure robust control improvements are identified, implemented and managed satisfactorily.

Accurately maintain and distribute risk event communications.

Assist the Risk Manager with the completion of quarterly risk and control self-assessments and control testing activity.

Accurately maintain the Claims Risk Tracker liaising with action owners from across the business.

Manage the oversight of the ROA function across all Claims areas, regularly liaising with the Data Protection Team keeping up to date on any regulatory or internal process changes.

Assist and support with the production of monthly reporting.

Monitor and support with the development of Key Risk Indicators.

Contribute to the risk awareness and communication programme across all Claims departments.

To assist and support, as required the Head of Claims Business Standards.
