About the Role
In an exciting time of change across LV=GI, the Software Engineering team are at the forefront of improving ways of working across IT. In the role of Software Build Engineer you will play a vital role in the build management and delivery of software automation.
The Software Build Engineers are responsible for delivering Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery best practices along with the value adding tools while enabling development, QA and infrastructure teams to own their own code and deliver changes in a repeatable way while maintaining quality.
Keeping within LV=GI’s Digital-First culture, you’ll join a dynamic team where nothing stays still for long. Together with the rest of the team you will actively pursue improved tooling and processes to make tasks easier and more streamlined, and with a focus on continuous improvement you will apply you knowledge and expertise to drive change.
With your experience of building and automating the deployment of large-scale Java or .Net applications, you already have an understanding of software development and build practices. You may come from a development or DevOps background and now you’re looking for a change – a new environment working closely together with a dynamic team, to make big impacts in a vital function in the business and actively seek to be better and make things better for others.
You follow Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Infrastructure as Code practices, and are an expert in a number of different DevOps tools and software platforms. Have you worked with Gradle, Maven and NPM build tools; Kubernetes (preferably AKS); Terraform; GitLab; Jenkins; CloudBees; SonarQube or Artifactory? If you have any of these then we’d like to hear from you, and any experience working in the Cloud, particularly Azure, then this would be a big advantage.
You know when to work in isolation, and you’ll have the flexibility to do this up to three days from home; but fitting into our values, you understand that Team Matters! You’ll want to be hands on, working collaboratively in an Agile environment, engaging with your colleagues and pooling resources and expertise to get the job done.
