In the changing landscape of LV=GI, as the new Development Team Leader for the Guidewire team, you will bring a deep understanding of Guidewire 8 and its use within the insurance industry. With this understanding you’ll guide and mentor your team to liaise with the business to fully understand their customer needs and priorities to resolve them.
Working within GI IT standards, guided by the corporate IT strategy, you will deliver high standards of quality and performance by reviewing the development team’s code. You will embrace our collaborative culture, and be involved in peer and management reviews. Working with solution architects, you’ll review high level designs and work to reach the right solutions.
By holding regular 1:1s you’ll provide coaching and development opportunities to support your reports’ quality of work and their individual career progression. You’ll lead from the front, being a hands-on leader and role model, on-boarding new starters and recruiting new team members for our in-house team and third-party resources.
What are we looking for?
As an experienced developer in the technologies Guidewire and other Java applications, with an appreciation of Microsoft SQL Databases, you’ll be best placed to lead a small team, sharing your ethos of continuous improvement and customer-driven solutions.
You’re looking for an opportunity to share best practice, following the GI IT standards, and to guide others to follow your example to do the same. Your customer focus will shine through, as you thrive working in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure expectations are managed, business needs are understood and the correct solutions are sought.
Ideally you will have worked within an Agile framework before, working across departments with stakeholders, third parties, DevOps teams and solution architects before. Previous experience working in, or with, Applications Support teams would be an advantage as your team will support them with fixes and production issues, and prioritising issues that need further investigation.
Whether or not you’ve held line management posts before, you’ll certainly have mentored and guided junior colleagues and now be looking for a step up to lead, coach and develop the team. We are in an interesting time of change so your new ideas, fresh perspective and initiatives are both welcomed and encouraged!
