Who we are

We are not your average insurance company; in fact, we strive to be different. You will not find strict dress codes, jargon-filled documents, or unrealistic targets here. What you will find is a welcoming culture, a clear vision and teams of passionate people doing their best for our customers.

LV= GI is a large, multi-award-winning general insurance company, with nearly 7 million customers and aspirations for future growth. Having recently become part of the Allianz family, we’re proud to be one of the largest personal insurers in the UK.

Role Description

LV=GI have a new opportunity for a Pricing Analyst in a Pricing Reporting team covering our offices in London or Bournemouth.

About the Role

The Pricing Reporting Team is accountable for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of pricing reporting systems and processes, as well as providing actionable insights and analysis to support strategic pricing decisions and we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Pricing Analyst working on multi-Products and Brands.

As a Pricing Analyst in the Pricing Reporting Team, you will be at the forefront of decision making; carrying out analysis and making recommendations to stakeholders to improve the pricing and products we offer to our customers and brokers. If you have a keen interest in data and analysis, whether you're a graduate at the beginning of your career or already have some Pricing experience, we'd love to hear from you!

This is available in either our Croydon or Bournemouth office, and offered on a hybrid basis with the opportunity to work from home regularly. We adopt a flexible working environment with a strong focus on continuous learning and development.

About you

You will have an analytical mind with a keen interest in data and making data-led decisions. You'll have a curious attitude and be detail oriented. You’ll also be a good communicator, well organised, with the ability to present your ideas to stakeholders from around the business.

At LV= GI we're open to candidates with a range of experience and backgrounds: you might be a new graduate with a numerical or analytical degree, a career changer looking to move into an analytical role, or have self-taught coding skills which you want to put to use in a new role.

We don't expect you to know everything from day one, but the following is desirable:

  • Have an eye for spotting trends, analysing data and business performance to provide actionable insight to the business.
  • Experience of learning and using a programming language such as Python or SQL. Solid Excel / Power BI skills.
  • Awareness of Willis Towers Watson software tools Radar Optimiser, Radar Live, and Emblem
  • Excellent data handling skills, such as producing summary statistics, transformations and visualisations
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships throughout both the Pricing Department and the wider business
  • Proven teamworking skills and the self-motivation to organise your workstack and balance competing deadlines
  • Enthusiasm to improve your knowledge of data science as applied to pricing insurance products

The Details

Customers are at the heart of everything that we do, so you’ll need to live the LV= values in everything you do. As a key member of the team, you’ll deliver project work to agreed business timescales based on requirements from Pricing and business-wide meetings.

You’ll use your coding and insurance industry expertise to carry out and deliver pricing analysis, interpret the output, and communicate the results to a technical and non-technical audience. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders and work with the business to understand best practices and keep aligned with the best ways of working.

Your role will vary day to day, but here is a bit of what you can expect:

  • Identify trends, making links in the data, providing actionable insight and communicating results to key stakeholders of Pricing & U/W and Trading groups.
  • Co-ordinate key outputs from Pricing & U/W and Trading groups which need to be produced on a regular basis to ensure consistency.
  • Continually looking to improve data, processes and reporting by providing a consistent view.
  • Get hands-on with data from its source right through to analysis and reporting, choosing the right software tool for the job, including Databricks (SQL and Python) and from time to time Willis Towers Watson software tools Radar Optimiser, Radar Live, and Emblem

You’ll be keen to learn and pro-actively develop your career, and we’ll provide many opportunities and study support, including:

  • Access to the AllianzU platform for a wide range of learning resources to target the areas you want to improve
  • Learning resources to improve and maintain your data science skills including a company subscription to DataCamp
