Everything you need to know about working in Customer Service at LV= GI

Not all Customer Service roles were created equal. But what makes working in Customer Service at LV= GI a cut-above the rest? We caught up with some of our Customer Service superstars to find out...

Before you joined LV= GI’s Customer Service team, did you have any misconceptions about the role?
“When I first applied for the job, I thought I’d have to be a robot, just taking call after call and following a script. But it's the complete opposite - we're allowed to let our personality show through on calls. Having nice conversations with customers is what makes my job so enjoyable.” Naomi, Senior Customer Service Representative.

“I'd never worked in a call centre before, let alone an inbound one, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was surprised to find that at LV= GI, we’re not targeted on the amount of calls we get through. Instead the focus is on having quality interactions with our customers.” Krista, Senior Customer Service Representative.

“I thought it would be call after call but it's not like that. You have some time between every call, to just have a drink and a bit of a breather which is great” Nate, Customer Service Representative.

“A lot of people think it's going to be really heavily target driven, but it’s not.“ Craig, Senior Customer Service Representative.

What’s the best thing about working in Customer Service at LV= GI?
“For me, the number one thing is definitely the people. Some of my team are really close friends of mine now, which is lovely.” Craig, Senior Customer Service Representative.

“I have the best team leader. If I've got an issue, I know she's always going to have my back. That's probably the best thing for me. I want to progress into the training side of things and she's backing me all the way” Naomi, Senior Customer Service Representative.

“I think the best thing is job satisfaction. I love being able to chat to customers and getting to know them.” Bowan, Customer Service Representative.

What skills do you need to succeed in Customer Service at LV= GI?
“I think you've got to be self-driven and resilient to succeed here. We’re also encouraged to use our initiative and our own questioning.” Krista, Senior Customer Service Representative.

“Being emotionally resilient is key. And it’s important to have the self-awareness and confidence to reach out for support if you need it too.” Craig, Senior Customer Service Representative.

What are the benefits and rewards like?
“At LV= GI, if you work hard, you get rewarded massively. I've worked hard and it’s been acknowledged with our internal awards” Harry, Customer Service Representative.

“Other than the great people, my favourite thing is all the benefits and employee discounts we have access to - like getting 10% off at Costa!” Nate, Customer Service Representative
