I’ve been a Claims Handler at LV= GI for over 10 years now and have enjoyed every minute of it. Delivering exceptional customer service really gives me a buzz. It’s certainly never boring - every day brings new customers and new experiences, and I love the variety. It's nice to get to speak to different types of people and I really enjoy the challenge of finding new ways to overcome problems. Always making sure I put the customer first, it’s down to me to come up with the best course of action to solve their problems - and I love being able to help.
At LV= GI, the company values aren’t just words - everyone actually gets behind them and lives them. Working here, I get the feeling that I’m part of something special. Over the years, working at LV= GI has helped me to open up a bit more and step outside of my comfort zone. Now I really believe in myself. Everyone's very accepting, and we just look after each other. We’re like a big family, really. And if the company sees that someone needs a little push, a little extra support, they will do everything to adapt to their needs and to inspire them to flourish.
At the start of the first lockdown last year the business set us the challenge of creating a video to show each other how we were staying active. I don’t take myself too seriously and I like to make myself look silly sometimes, so I thought I might as well do something to cheer people up. So I made a funny video. It was just for our team WhatsApp group to make them giggle, but it turns out my manager was quite impressed - she couldn't stop praising me for it! She then asked me if she could share the video with others too - I like making people laugh so that was fine by me. The positive reaction of my team and manager was definitely unexpected but it really made me feel valued.
LV= GI helps us to progress and do amazing things by providing constant development opportunities and support. Last year I was given the opportunity to study towards professional CII qualification - and in November I passed with 95%, which I think is classed as a distinction. The company also has an open door policy and we’re encouraged to get involved and come up with new ideas and ways to improve our existing systems. So recently, I came up with a bit of a business strategy - something that could be a game changer for the company. It was received very well, so I’m excited to see what comes of it.
If someone was thinking about applying for a job with LV= GI, I’d say just go for it! You're not going to regret it. Everyone will welcome you with open arms and make you feel like part of the family from day one. It's just an amazing place to work and build up your career. LV= GI is definitely the place for me - until I retire!
