About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Privacy Manager in our Croydon office. Working as first line of defence, your role will be to help strengthen and maintain the Data Protection and Information Security frameworks for the whole of the LV= General Insurance (GI) business. Reporting to the Head Data Protection and Information Security role, you will assist in the embedment, co-ordination and monitoring of Data Protection compliance including General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

About you

This is a hands on role where you will have a lot of exposure to a number of different stakeholders, so naturally you will be a very confident oral communicator with well- structured and concise written communication skills and you will champion in stakeholder management. In addition, you will use your own initiative to help solve business challenges effectively.

When it comes to technical knowledge, you will have previous experience in insurance and you will be able to display strong understanding of driving operational change and project delivery. We will require a Data Privacy qualification, and you will need to be up to date with current Data Privacy legislations.


  • Act as key business contact for the GI business for all Data Protection queries
  • Support business initiatives and projects by acting as Data Protection SME, ensuring Privacy by Design is embedded into project deliverables and other change processes
  • Support the strengthening and maintenance of the Data Protection and Information Security frameworks and transition into BAU
  • Be responsible for the delivery and embedment of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) across the GI Business
  • Investigate, analyse and produce responses to: Data Breaches, Data Subject Rights (DSR) requests
  • Production of and/or review and analysis of business Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and creating recommendations based on your review
  • Design and implement new processes relating to Data Protection and Information Security as required
  • Liaise with your colleagues in legal and business teams to ensure that contracts with 3rd parties protect GI’s commercial and legal position in relation to Data Privacy
  • Support relevant audits and general compliance monitoring of Data Privacy, compliance and Information Security across GI and take responsibility for actioning any findings, including the production and delivery of updates to GI Executive and Risk Committees
  • Design, embed and maintain the Data Protection and Information Security awareness training programme
  • Ensure GI operational processes meet Data Privacy obligations by working closely with the GI operational teams and providing guidance and advice
  • Keep informed on industry best practices and disseminate and provide advice on best practice within the GI Risk and Compliance function and wider GI business
  • Producing MI and designing insightful reports, providing analysis of issues and trends and recommendations to various audiences including the GI Executive team
