This October we treated our Digital Apprentices and Graduates to a day out at Digital Wave 2016; a fantastic event which celebrates all things digital. It was a great opportunity for students and young people across Bournemouth to come together to witness talks from some of the digital industry’s finest innovators and speak to local employers like us!
What happens at Digital Wave?
Our Digital Apprentices joined over 1,000 students at this one day event held at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC). Throughout the day, guests were able to attend talks and panel sessions from various organisations and were given the opportunity to view stands hosted by digital companies, to help them discover their dream digital career.
Why did LV= attend?
Our Digital Apprentices joined members of our Recruitment Team to talk to attendees about the opportunities LV= offer in the world of digital and answer any questions about our Digital Apprenticeship course. We also gave away free goodie bags, which included the digital apprenticeship booklet that our previous apprentices designed and created themselves.
What were the highlights?
Our Digital Apprentices loved watching the guest speakers, especially Robert Belgrave, CEO of Wirehive, who gave an inspirational talk about his first seven jobs to show that even ‘successful’ people have to start somewhere. Luke Williams, Social Media Innovation Officer for RNLI, also gave an insightful talk about how he delivers advice through different social media channels to help people stay safe at sea. He is also aiming to use 360° video to give people a real life perspective.
How can I become a Digital Apprentice?
Interested in becoming one of our Digital Apprentices? We typically advertise our digital apprenticeship opportunities around March time each year, so check out our LV= Careers page during this month to apply and register your interest.
