Celebrating winning Sales Professional of the Year for the second year running!

Another year, another exciting award win! Huge congratulations to Siobhan, Business Development Manager in our intermediary protection sales team, who scooped up the prestigious Sales Professional of the Year award at the British Excellence in Sales and Marketing Awards (BESMA). The awards ‘represent the UK's highest level of recognition for outstanding sales achievement’ so it was an honour for our sales professionals’ brilliant work to be recognised. The judges were impressed with Siobhan’s diary management which enables her to spend more quality time with adviser firms than her competitors, and described her as “head and shoulders” above the other entrants. Even more impressively, it’s the second year running that we’ve won the award after Jon Fuller achieved the accolade last year. Adam Davidson was also a shortlisted finalist for Telesales Professional of the Year following his great achievements.

We caught up with Siobhan, to find out more about her exciting win: “It felt amazing to win the BESMA Sales Professional of the Year Award, even more so because I really wasn’t expecting it! After putting the submission forward, I was given a role play brief about selling a product to the Sales Director of a company. I was nervous about pitching as the product was completely different to my field of work but I did my research, built up my knowledge and went in to present. After that, I had an interview with the panel of judges which was much easier as I was talking about myself – although it did feel a little awkward selling myself! There was quite a long wait until the actual awards and I’d tried to put it to the back of my mind to avoid thinking about things I could’ve done better. So, when my name was called out at the event, it was such a shock – I nearly cried! It was a brilliant night though and I’ve taken a lot from the process. Successfully selling something I’d known nothing about a few days before has definitely shown me that my sales skills are transferable.”
