Meet Rob Foster, Talent Learning and Development Partner
When did you start working for LV=?
I started my current role in January 2023. I also worked for LV= from 2012-2014.
What did you do before coming to work for LV=?
I have pretty much always worked in HR, learning and development. Before rejoining LV= I worked at Fidelity International, Close Brothers Asset Management, Specsavers, and JPMorgan.
What does your day-to-day role look like?
Running our management development courses, having one-to-one coaching conversations with our brilliant leaders, contributing to the training and education work on our corporate change projects. There’s never a dull day!
What advice would you give someone looking to do a job like yours?
Be a self-starter – there is so much opportunity all around, and the key is knowing what to get involved in and when.
What have you enjoyed most in your role so far?
Having the opportunity to build our learning and development offering. The scope and freedom that I have been given has been really refreshing. While LV= is a big company, it’s small enough that you can get to know a lot of great people.
What other role within LV= could you see yourself doing?
I enjoy working with people, as well as having a variety of things to do. So, a people management role, running projects or similar would be appealing.
For a work meeting, what’s your drink of choice?
There is only one meeting work drink: black coffee (anything else is a waste of water…).
Outside work, what do you enjoy doing?
My family are growing up now, but I can just about help them with their homework on the odd occasion! Otherwise, we live for our holidays, anywhere that has hot sun, a pool and a few decent restaurants nearby.
